Yucef Merhi is a Venezuelan digital art pioneer, hacker artist, poet and computer programmer whose works engage electronic circuits, computers, video game systems, touch screens, and other devices, often representing text. The resulting artworks expand the limitations of language and the traditional context of poetry. Yucef has exhibited at the New Museum, LACMA, the Orange County Museum of Art, Museo de Bellas Artes and Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Caracas, Paço das Artes in Sao Paolo, Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx Museo del Barrio, Eyebeam, Exit Art, and more.
