Paolo Cirio is a world-class shit-disturber. He has worked as a media artist in various fields: net-art, street-art, video-art, software-art and experimental fiction. He investigates perception and the creation of cultural, political and economic realities manipulated by modes of control over information's power. In 2011 he copied a million Facebook profiles and republished them on a fake dating website; he has published life-size images of people from Google Street View as street art in the location where they were photographed; issued thousands of fake VISA cards; and posed as a Russian spy on social networks. A recent Eyebeam fellow, Paolo has exhibited work at museums worldwide and has won awards from the Prix Ars Electronica, Transmediale, Share Festival, Rhizome and more.
